Montana Adaptive Aquatics Program (MAAP)
MAAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with physical and mental challenges through adaptive aquatic activities. Our certified instructors, trained by the Handicapped Scuba Association (HSA), use specialized techniques to help participants learn snorkeling and scuba diving, with many achieving HSA certification for independent diving.
Adaptive Snorkeling & Scuba
We tailor snorkeling lessons to individual needs, focusing on mobility, swimming skills, and essential techniques. Scuba diving is available for individuals with various disabilities, including paraplegia, amputations, and sensory impairments. Medical clearance is required for both activities.
Montana Veteran’s Aquatic Alliance
A division of MAAP, this program helps veterans and their families overcome post-service challenges through adaptive aquatic techniques, promoting physical and mental well-being. Some activities include:
